[vtkusers] Need Interface Visualizatiom 3D medical datasets

Hi,
I am looking for an interface for visualization and interaction with 3D
medical datasets, as CT/MR scanners.
I would like also to visualize at the same time results of segmentation, surfaces given by meshes, in the same interface, for validating the results.
I am looking for an environment in VTK, where it is somehow easy to input new functionalities.
Did you hear about this kind of open-source resource?
