[vtkusers] image display

Hi All

Im new to VTK. I was using IDL programing beforre. Now we have decided to
switch to VTK. I would like to know how fast
is VTK rendering compared some opengl based tools like open inventor ?Does
VTK uses OpenGl?
Please tell me how to read a the raw data in memory and display it in a
window as an image. Send me some sample code for image display, zoom
contrats and histogarm manipulation if you have..
