[vtkusers] modeling question

Hi

I have a set of data (x,y) which I plotted. My data is a curve.
Now i want to draw a cylinder of certain thickness around my curve. 
I used the vtkTubeFilter to achieve this, and when I render it I see a nice
tube but there is a 
gap (empty space)between the tube and the curve. Tube is not filled.
What I actually want is a cylinder around my data 
with the axis of the cylinder being my curve. 
Is there any idea as to how to achieve this?.
