[vtkusers] A volume rendering question

Hi folks,

a (hopefully not stupid) vtk question. I'm playing with volume rendering
and the thing that I want to do is the following:

say I have a couple of grids and I want to volume render both of them, but
in such a way that in an area where the two overlap, I only render one of
them. Is the VolumeRayCastFunction the one to look at?

I'm new to volume rendering, but not new to geometry and data cell
manipulation. I'm sure I can cut the data out like that, but I would like
to know if anybody has any other ideas about that.
