[vtkusers] Problem in Building vtk

hi folks,
 

   When I start building vtk source code, I encountered  "NMAKE : fatal
error U1081: '%SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe' : program not found Stop" in
the first cxx object itself.

 When I checked the %SystemRoot% variable, it is pointing to C:\WINNT and
cmd.exe is found in C:\WINNT\System32. Can some one tell me what is going
wrong?
