[vtkusers] vtkPanel

I have been having trouble getting any programs which use vtkPanel to run
correctly. I did some investigation and have some idea what is going on, but
no idea how to fix it.

The vtkPanel object is being created and added to its frame correctly.
Keyboard commands and mouse interaction are recognized as well, and call the
Render method like they're supposed to.

However, all that shows up on-screen where the vtkPanel should be is default
the grey component color. Menus and other components show up without
problem.

I'm using debian with jdk1.3.0_02.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
