[vtkusers] istream/ostream overload for vtk file formats

Hi,

is there something like an istream/ostream overload so that one can read/write
vtk data directly from/into streams? I was hoping that the vtkReader and Writer
would have such a functionality. It is particularly useful if one ones to store
e.g. a stack of polydata's in one file.
