I am coming over from the unix world to the NT world and I need to get
into some activities
with Java and VTK. I'm using MS-Visual-C++6.0 and IBM Visual Age Java on
NT4.
I have run pcmaker and compiled vtkbin/vtkdll and vtkbin/vtkjava but I
don't really
know where to go from there. Are there any helpful tutorials out there
for using vtk from java
on PCs.
On my unix (Solaris) installation, I had added some classes to
vtkContrib for
reading objects from a buffer instead of from a file (so that the
objects could
be retrieved from a database). This worked very smoothly, with the
wrappers being
generated automatically, etc. and the java version coming out in the
wash. How
is this done on NT systems? I also wanted to provide a class that could
read textures
from a buffer instead of a file, which was much more complicated because
the
reading is handled by a superclass. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help.
