showScalarVisibilityOn() problems

Hi,

I've written a VTK/Java program for students to get familiar with splatting and marchingcubes, but if I turn the scalar visibility on I can see the example but when I start to turn it around it changes color and becomes compeletly black and after a full turn it's fully colored again. This doesn't happen when I turn the scalar visibility off. Anyone has a solution for this?
