saving/restoring views..

Is there a convenient way to save a particular view (camera,
perspective, etc.) so that
the application can be brought back at a later time to the same view? I
assume all camera parameters
need to be saved (there is a way to get the camera transform matrix, but
not to set it), and
the projection matrices.. In particular, we are doing a-b comparisons
between 2 simulations
and would like to see the renderings from the same exact same viewing
specification.
It certainly is possible to have both in the same rendering window, but
we havent
implemented that yet.

Thanks.
