Dan,

You seem to have put:
JAVA_CLASS_HOME=/localhome/blezek/vtk-linux/java/vtk

instead of:
JAVA_CLASS_HOME=/localhome/blezek/vtk-linux/java

in your user.make.

Also remember to set your CLASSPATH before building:

setenv CLASSPATH .:/localhome/blezek/vtk-linux/java
