[vtkusers] VolumeReader for compressed data

Hello,

I'm looking for a tool reading volumes such as vtkVolume16Reader or
vtkVolumeReader but accepting as entry compressed data (either jpeg or
anything else ...).
As it is possible to have DICOM compressed images, is there a way to read
these images as a volume ?
