Diamond problems?

I'm not sure if one is supposed to answer one's own
questions on this mailer but I thought it would be
good to have the solution in the archive lest
someone else has the same problem. The problem
was with a diamond video card according to:

I tried these and they seem to be working fine. I don't know if there
is a similar solution for other diamond woes but it is worth trying
reference drivers if they are available.
