vtkPanel and Swing followup

Hello,
   Some months ago there was discussion of problems
when using a vtkPanel in a swing component.  I'm
wondering, has anyone come up with a solution to some
of the problems caused?  For example, when creating a
vtkPanel in a JFrame, the renderer is drawn on top of
other components (like menus).  Also, when using
several JInternalFrames, mouse actions dont go to the
right frame properly, drawing isnt correct, etc.

Someone proposed writing a vtkJPanel which will extend
from JPanel.  Has someone come up with this?
