Value for marchingcube

Hello!

When I try to get a isosurface after a vtkImageThreshold I can't find
the right value for the vtkMarchingCubes. 
E.g. vtkImageThreshold  with InValue(255) and OutValue(0), only 0.5 or 1
work as density value for the marchingcubes. Can anyone explain, how to
find the right value for the isoline(x)? Is there anay difference in the
3D-dimensions for the different possible values in the computed
3D-model?
