Thanks a lot for this very valuable contribution (very nice computers at
G.E. :))

Here is a little summary for these willing to compare :

>hp machine is an HP Visualize B180 running HPUX B.10.20

   1) 256x256 : 981.9 kpolys/s : [stripper]
   3) 256x256 : 698.1 kpolys/s : []

Another fast beast.

   1) 128x128 : 1933.2 kpolys/s : [stripper]
   4) 256x256 : 737.5 kpolys/s : []

Very good. But I thought a Onyx would do better.

   1) 256x256 : 398.0 kpolys/s : [stripper]
   4) 256x256 : 201.5 kpolys/s : [small_sphere]

Slow ;)

   1) 256x256 : 1171.0 kpolys/s : [stripper]
   3) 256x256 : 682.5 kpolys/s : []

Very interesting to see that it competes with the SGI Onyx Infinite Reality
with 4 194 MHz R10000 (above), except for [stripper]. I guess both prices
are very different, aren't they ?

   1) 256x256 : 281.2 kpolys/s : [stripper]
   4) 256x256 : 144.6 kpolys/s : []

Strange, my own UltraSparc Creator 3D was a lot faster.

>solaris26m6 is a dual process SUN Sparc Ultra-60 with an Elite 3D board.
>This machine is running Solaris 2.6

   1) 256x256 : 2730.6 kpolys/s : [transparency]
   2) 256x256 : 2647.8 kpolys/s : [stripper]
   3) 256x256 : 2595.4 kpolys/s : []
   4) 256x256 : 2496.6 kpolys/s : [small_sphere]
   5) 256x256 : 953.2 kpolys/s : [texture, transparency]
   6) 256x256 : 932.9 kpolys/s : [texture]
   7) 256x256 : 490.9 kpolys/s : [wireframe]

JESUS, what is that KILLER ?! This is actually the fastest combination I've
ever seen in this bench. And the fact that stripping has NO influence seems
to me that you did not push the beast hard enough :) Could you try to
launch the bench until 512x512 ?

But look at the huge performance loss when texture is on... (well, this
performance loss is still higher than 95% of the current results in our
database :)))

   1) 256x256 : 281.7 kpolys/s : [stripper]
   2) 256x256 : 147.2 kpolys/s : []
