Linux and OpenGL hardware

Hi everyone,

Due to the budget system at German universities we have to buy a PC,
which will also be used for VTK-based visuliasation, by Friday. My
question is what graphics hardware to people recommend. We plan to use
Linux on that PC. Unfortunately we don't have lot's of experience with
OpenGL. Right now we use the MesaGL library (software rendering only).
Any help is very welcome!
