[vtk-developers] VRML Appearance Nodes

Hi Will,

I'm not sure if any of the other importers include this functionality
(loading a texture from a url) but it would be a great addition I think. At
the very least the documentation should be clear that appearance nodes are
not actually supported. I wouldn't mind helping out but must admit that I
am intimidated with the complex process of submitting patches back to VTK.
Particularly the manner in which code reviews seem to be handled... I feel
like I'm trying to submit a patch back to the linux kernel!
