Will,

I'm going to put my reader on the CSCS web pages for the time being and 
when it has matured (and been tested a bit more) I'll put it into vtk 
proper. There are so many combinations of ways data can be 
stored/extracted that I'm almost certainly not handling all of them and 
don't want to commit myself to being inundated with bug reports and 
requests until I am ready...
Mind you, now that the netCDF library itself is in vtk...
