[vtk-developers] asymmetry of SetNumberOfComponents and SetNumberOfTuples

True... But from the documentation it seems that it's the Set... methods
that don't intentionally check in order to be fast. If you want range
checking, you can use the Insert... Methods. But there are no safe
Get... methods.
