[vtk-developers] vtknew tree and testing / examples

I assume we will run dual testing systems until all is stable in the new tree wrt testing and the
code. We (GE and Kitware) should gather together to discuss testing for the new tree.

Hello Folk,

I am at the point where I want to setup testing for the new VTK tree
and I have a couple questions. First, where do you think the
example/testing code should go? In the old tree it is in
graphics/examplesTcl graphics/examplesPython etc. In some other
projects they use a separate tree for testing. Also some of our Tcl
scripts make for good examples while others are not useful as example
but provide good test coverage. Should we separate these? Have tests
and examples be located in different directories? For example:

vtk/Code/Common

vtk/Testing/Cxx/Common

vtk/Testing/Tcl/Common

vtk/Examples/Cxx

vtk/Examples/Tcl

versus

vtk/Common/ExamplesTcl

vtk/Common/ExamplesCxx

Any thoughts on this or other ideas?
