OK, you're the boss :), but these 6 lines are very "controllable" indeed 
:), I do not see side-effects for the moment, but you are right, who 
knows... Anyway, this speed up compilation by a factor of 2 to 3, which I 
thought was worth using it, especially for these of us working with the 
CVS. I know this is specialized code, but the Windows platform is 
important, and I guess 90% of the Windows users are using MSVC++. There is, 
sadly, no other place to put it other than on top of each *.cxx.
