[Ves] VES install

So I now have an old mac book, 10.7.5 os x. I was trying to instill VES
using the current cmake 2.8-12. I have tried to to do this via terminal and
gui with homebrew and the long, I keep getting errors out of xcode using
xcode 4.6 and 4.6.3. Am I missing something or is there another way. I have
tried doing the install off wiki and homebrew, i need help.
