[Paraview] time series error with EnSight format

When I open a time series of EnSight files, the file-open browser shows
that it intends to open the whole series, and then names the node in the
pipline with the "*" notation. However, the "Case File Name" does not get
the "*", and if I add it, I get the following error (sensitive path names
replaced with XXX):

I have tried paraview versions 5.0.1 and 5.1.2, both 32 and 64 bit, and get
the same error. My ensight files are named "ensight.var.time". For example,
"ensight.case.0001", "ensight.case.0002", ... and "ensight.Desity.0001",
"ensight.Density.0002", ... I can open any given timestep by itself with no
error.


Is this an error in the ensight reader, or am I doing something wrong?
