[Paraview] PV 3.10 stuck in select state

I use paraview 3.10. Can't update right now.
PV is built via FreeBSD ports.

It used to work ok till recently.
Now when run, only the logo come up
and stays up forever. The actual
PV window never comes up. top shows:

  PID USERNAME    THR PRI NICE   SIZE    RES STATE   C   TIME    WCPU COMMAND
31186 mexas         1  20    0   397M   226M select  0   0:06   0.00% paraview

and it stays in this state indefinitely.

Where should I start looking for a solution
to this problem?
