[Paraview] Help writing a Probe/Picking Plugin

I would like to use the point widget together with the ProbeFilter to write a custom made plugin similar to the ProbeLocatoin filter in PV. However, I am not able to "activate" the point widget as well as to retrieve the coordinate from the picking action. The only thing I am currently interested is the 3D coordinates from the picking action.

 

Has someone experiences in customizing the picking action using a plugin in PV?
