A trial-and-error suggestion to debug the problem:
The segfault seems to be due to an uninitialized vtkProcessMoudule,
and to narrow down a bit more (if that is the issue), can you try to
set PARAVIEW_USE_MPI cmake variable to OFF, then run 'paraview -dr' to
see if that makes a difference?
