[Paraview] plotting additional variables in paraview

Hi John,

To make sure that I understand: you are trying to color the surface by a
variable but it is not showing up in the variable selector on the Active
Variable Control toolbar. Correct? What is the representation type on the
Representation toolbar? Also, did you apply any filters?
