Hi,
since our cluster hasn't gpu, we compiled paraview with osmesa support (as explained in http://paraview.org/Wiki/Setting_up_a_ParaView_Server) and we always run paraview server with flags:
--use-offscreen-rendering --disable-composite
If in paraview (client) we disable the option edit -> settings -> server -> remote rendering threshold (or if we increase threshold to max - 100 MB), the client only crashes when we try to execute certain operations (such as "select block"), but performances are very very bad.
If instead we don't disable the above option, paraview crashes when we try to load a file or to execute any operation.
The errors is always:
vtkServerConnection.cxx, line 67
vtkServerConnection (0x1c911b0): Server Connection Closed!
Could be really a problem regarding X server and DISPLAY variable?
Thanks a lot.
