[Paraview] how to run ParaView 3.4.0 on MacOS Leopard in parallel?

Dear ParaView developers,

I downloaded paraview.app-3.4.0-Leopard-x86.dmg<http://www.paraview.org/files/v3.4/paraview.app-3.4.0-Leopard-x86.dmg>from
the download page, which according to the download page are built
using
the OpenMPI that is bundled with MacOS Leopard, and I want to run it in
distributed stand-alone mode (as described in section 12.2 of the ParaView
Guide) on my 8-core Mac Pro running Leopard (10.5.7).
