[Paraview] How to set PV_PLUGIN_PATH correctly for loading plugins in Paraview 3.2.0?

Hi,

I'm trying to get run the Plugin Examples provided by Paraview.

I get the plugins compiled and I can load them using the Plugin Manager 
in the tool menu (as described in 
http://www.paraview.org/Wiki/Plugin_HowTo and
http://www.paraview.org/Wiki/ExtendingParaView)

I would like to have the plugins loaded automatically at paraview 
startup, so I set the PV_PLUGIN_PATH to point at the plugin folder. But 
the plugins will not be loaded.

Where exactly should PV_PLUGIN_PATH point at?
