[Paraview] Shortcuts to creating batch files in 3.*?

Hi all,

In the 2.x series of paraview, I recall there was an option like
'save batch script' , which was an easy way to get a start on
creating a batch script (say do it for 1 outputfile, then modify the
text file with a loop to do many of the same operation)

It appears there is no such option now that the scripting has been
switched to python, or am I just missing how to do it? Is there some
way to get this from the 'save state' option (which seems to be xml,
not python)?

If there isn't, is there any free documentation available on how to
set them up? In my brief search, I couldn't seem to find even an
example file.

Thanks,

Dave
