[Paraview] Qt Custom Panel

I am currently developing a custom threshold filter that uses the QDateEdit
widget instead of the pqDoubleRangeWidget. Is there any example of what  I
should to to make this happen? Should I look into extending  QDateEdit into
my own custom widget?
