Parker,
first of all I'd like to say that I'm not familiar with SPH, however I have
a friend that was working with DEM (same thing... a meshless method).
Sometime ago we were looking for information about how visualize his results
(he used to visualize using Ensight and representing the particles as points
-- beautiful results but toooooooooo slow) when we started to "converge" in
the same direction. It seems that there is a technique called "splatting"
used for representing the particles as fluids. It extracts the boundary
particles and create a surface linking them. Since I'm not a visualization
guy, I guess other folk here in this fórum (or in the VTK's fórum) could
clarify how this technique works (if I'm not wrong about what I found on the
net) and if PV (or VTK) has or will have such feature in the future.

This is sounding promising, but I wanted to use the work "SPH" to try to
give an indication of what I was doing. In fact these are just Euler
calcs, but instead of using FDM, FVM, or FEM, I'm using a meshless
method. I'm not familiar enough with paraview (kind of why I'm checking
first) to understand some of the tech points people are making.
Are people saying that basically I can only view streamlines, and vector
type plots? Or are they saying that they've found a way to read in
meshless data but plot pressure fields, isosurfaces etc???
Getting a bit lost, but important to me that I make this distinction of
what I'm after. Basically I would want to view the full range of typical
CFD like scalar/vector plots surfaces, but without providing the mesh...
Is this too much...
