[Paraview] Error when building Paraview 2.4.4

I am a new user of Paraview, and have been trying to built it from source on
a CDROM I got with the Kitware documentation.  I get a set of errors during
building where it tells reports a "PRJ003 Error spawing 'cmd.exe'" error.  I
have found that this is related to it embedding a manifest.  

 

I can turn it off a single project at a time, but I suspect a change to the
CMake files is needed or a different rev compiler.   Can someone help me to
get a clean debug build?  Is MSVS C++ 2005 the version that we should be
using to build Paraview?
