[Paraview] reflection filter-mirror half solution

That's not silly at all.  I commonly see simulations take advantage of
symmetry to reduce computation.  However, I am unclear on what the
problem is you are having with the reflection filter.  It works fine for
me with ParaView 2.4.4, the RSN ParaView 2.6, and the upcoming Paraview
3.  What version of ParaView are you using it with and what type of data
are you applying it to?
