[Paraview] Problem in VTK read

I was told that the vtk FIELD format is not supported by ParaView.  It would
be a nice feature to have, given ParaView's limitations in XY type plots.

  Hello all,

  I use a 3d simulation code which use symmetry plan defined by the 4
coefficients of the plane equation Ax+By+Cz+D=0.
  I save these informations in a VTK file in a field block :

  FIELD symmetry 1
  SYMMETRY 4 1 double
  valA valB valC valD

  and when I try to load this file in paraview 2.2 I have this error :
