[Paraview] show cut surface

I'm trying to clip a triangulated shape, which I read from a stl file. 
Using the clip filter in Paraview gives me a hollow looking shape. Now I 
would like ParaView to generate a cut surface so that the shape looks 
solid again. I know from the clipcow example in VTK that it can be done 
but wasn't able to find this function in ParaView. Is there any 
possibility to get the cut surface in ParaView?
