[Paraview] documentation and tutirails

I downloaded the documentation but don't see answers to the following
questions:
1-How to change the contour line colors?
2-The tutorial works partially. 
paraview comb.xyz shows the boundaries
but the vts and .q files give segmentation faults.
3-Is there additional documentation available that I can download?
