[Paraview-developers] How to write a great error message

I thought this was a great article on error messages. ParaView is getting better, but still tends to output way too much, in way too cryptic of a geeky way. For instance, trust me - real users don't know what sockets are. If a line number in a vtkSocket file says "error", you've lost them. If they are told that the socket disconnected, they don't care. If the backend server times out or dies, now you have their attention!
