Please ignore that message- I posted it a week or more ago and it bounced (size of pic) so I thought it had been deleted.

Perhaps some of my changes clobbered something. I'm using a branch which is rebased onto tag v3.98.0
I'll double check later with a clean paraview build (after I've seen if any of my stuff conflicts with the domain patch)

John,
I cannot reproduce what you are seeing.
Here's what I found with two different plugins on a Mac OS X debug build:
Plugin Double - An XML plugin with a double vector property and no domain range specified
Plugin Int - A plugin with a custom VTK class and an int vector property with no domain range specified
ParaView v3.98-RC3 (commit f1b2a9d0539bdc06b7ce2bd762f06eb8a8d48d29)
- Plugin Double - GUI element appears
- Plugin Int - GUI element appears
ParaView v3.98.0 (commit 6c5f016e52dce5b78e0ab4de20bb098c2606ecb4)
- Plugin Double - GUI element appears
- Plugin Int - GUI element appears
What's the SHA-1 hash of the ParaView commit you are building?

I just looked through the history up to v3.98.0 and didn't see any obvious changes that would make it revert to this behavior.
I'll see if I can reproduce.

The patch is in ParaView 3.98, and it was for ints as well. Do default domains for doubles show you the numeric entry in the GUI?
<
Nope. The double vectors have the same problem. No input box/field in the gui.
