[Paraview-developers] Making python a requirement

I'm not suggesting we do this right now, but I'm curious, is there anybody
who objects to making python a requirement for building paraview? Does
anyone deploy paraview with python off?

If you set static build + python, cmake will complain, but in fact static
builds with python work fine.

Subject: [Paraview] Compiling Paraview On Win Python.h
To: paraview at paraview.org

Hi

I have an issue that I am not sure how to solve, I was wondering if someone
could help me please:

I am trying to compile Paraview on windows platform using visual studio, I
have QT and VTK installed correctly but when I compile the source code I
get an error which says it can not find Python.h library, the issue here is
that when I CMake'd the source code I didn't check the option for the python
scripting therefore I am not sure why I am getting such an error, that would
be unless some other parts of Paraview is using Python.h. How can I solve
this problem so the compilation can contiiue!? do I need to download python?
is there a specific library that I need to download for visual studio? any
help is really appreciated!
