[ITK-users] Use of arbitrary SpatialObject masks with BSplineTransform based deformable registrations.

I have had some difficulty using arbitraily shaped ImageSpatialObject 
instances as masks with BSplineTransforms in my registrations.

Is there inherently any problem with using a mask which is inside 
(partially or completely) the rectangular B-spline mesh? I ask because 
in such a situation there will be transform parameters which will be 
outside the metric's region but which will still be operated upon by the 
optimiser.
