[Insight-users] Computation time of ConnectedThresholdImageFilter

I am having some trouble with the
ConnectedThresholdImageFilter in that the computation
time varies with image size. I used this operation on
an image of 250 x 250 x 250 (unsigned int) and the
filter took approximately 2 seconds or less. I then
used another image of approx 250 x 250 x 400, and the
computation time increased to 70 seconds (images are
pretty similar and the outputs are not dramatically
different). Is there a way to use this filter more
efficiently, or would I be better off using smaller
images? Is there a default maximum image size allotted
to the buffer? Want to know if there is a way to  get
around this. Thanks
