I had used the same version of FLTK for my previous build of 
Applications in the itk  1.6 version/ I do not remember having problems 
then.
Perhaps it's it worth mentioning that I had to specify to cmake the 
location of my FLTK since it is not the standard (it is not something 
like /usr/local/bin but /users/alex/software/fltk-1.5rc1).
