Hi Daniel,
ITK is writing/reading SpatialObjects through MetaIO.
You can use the itkSpatialObjectWriter/itkSpatialObjectReader classes for
this task.
Take a look at the example in
Insight/Examples/SpatialObjects/ReadWriteSpatialObject.cxx
or in the SoftwareGuide (Section 5.6)
