Hi Luis,

Although it is often used for better visualization, I think having a
histogram equalization filter is definitely useful. For example for
preprocessing images for better contrast prior to other filters. So I think
it would be good to have this tool.

Hi Radhika,


There is no Histogram Equalization filter in the Toolkit.
Note that HistogramEqualization is mostly a visualization
technique rather than something you want to use for image
analysis.

The closest thing available in the toolkit is the Histogram
Matching filter that will modify the histogram of an image
in order to match the histogram of another image.

This is sometimes used for image registration.


Could you describe in more detail your motivation for
performing histogram equalization  ?
