[Insight-users] problem on the parameters

When I use segment function I find some parameters are difficult to choose.Is there some reference to selecting parameters?Of course ,different image need different parameters to get required result.I think there is a general range about parameters.Where they are?I really need to read it.Could some one tell me? 
Any information will be appreciate.
