hello all:
I am interested in non-rigid medical image registration of brain using finite element methods. There are too many methods in this field but I would rather look upon the human brain as a heterogeneous environment, that is, imagining humam brain is consisting of several anotomical structures(skull, white matter, gray matter, ventricle system and so on), and some of them are a soft material, while others are rigid body. We can identify them with different parameters. When doing registration, the force is derived from the difference between two images. Then the anatomical structure is deformed under the control of construction equation in contiuum mechanism. The whole process is simulated by coupling boundary method element and finite element method.
I have used ITK for several months. I know ITK has some useful library for FEM. I find some demo example in ITKApplication/FEM directory. But I cannot find any help document. I am eager to know how to use these FEM API, what kind of work they can do. Can you give me some suggestions? I will appreciate for your help. Thanks.
