Just to add a bit to what Josh already said:

For Registration you may want to try:

-  Insight/Examples/MutualInformationEuler2DRegistration
(although the title states: Euler2D(Rigid), there is a variety of
other transforms that can be selected at compile time,
something to play with)

and

-  Insight/Examples/ImageRegistration
